How it Started

When I was eight years old, I had a painting on display at the Butler Institute of American Art! Using construction paper and oil pastels, I made my own rendition of Charles E. Burchfield’s September Wind and Rain.

This prepared me for a childhood filled with art camps and classes, both in and out of school.

How it’s Going

My name is Katherine (Katie) Toepfer, and I am a second-year Communication Design student at the University of Cincinnati seeking a Spring Semester 2025 Internship.

Growing up just outside of Youngstown, Ohio, I loved making art and helping people. Graphic Design combines my passions, allowing me to use my skills to help others' passions flourish, too!

When I'm not working, you can find me in a coffee shop trying a new latte, doing a Bible study, or spending quality time with my family!

Hi, I’m Katie!

Experiencing all sorts of art led me to start a business in 2020 when I was a freshman in High School.

Throughout these school years, I designed logos and flyers for local businesses, created commissioned paintings and jewelry, managed social media accounts, and took photographs (both portraits and freelance).

These various tasks introduced me to graphic design, where I got to witness first-hand how my art can help other people succeed. Check out some of those projects here!

A desire to learn more about design led me to DAAP! And hopefully, to work with you!

The hardworking designer you can trust.
